MY TESTIMONY

Blessed morning to all.

My name is Marlon I am from the twin Island of Trinidad and Tobago in the Caribbean.

As a child growing up parents will tell you go to school, get your education, get a job, get married, have children, and live happily ever after. So that’s what I did.

I got wedded under the Roman Catholic system. I had 3 beautiful children, had a great well-paying job, built and nice home. I thought I was doing well until I lost my job, my whole life crumbled and my then wife turned her back on me and divorced and took everything from me. Life became very difficult for me but I still had hope to wed again which I did in December 2021 but that too went the wrong way and only lasted 11 months which made me feel very sad and disappoint and it affected my son’s performance and at home and I lost all hope in that marriage because of verbal and emotional abuse I had to literally run. During this period of another failed marriage, I kept praying to God asking for deliverance through praying and fasting.

Then I met Karen things were great in the beginning speaking a lot getting to know each other and we discussed spending the rest of our lives together, after I moved to North Carolina with Karen things were not so great it became hard between me and Karen, I can’t even remember how many times I wanted to give up and walk away and the hope I had at the beginning was lost, Karen and I struggled with a lot of arguments, disagreement, Karen even had doubts about us and wanted to give up also, we tried to get help from a pastor who tried to help and thing had not changed, then that pastor from Raleigh introduced us to Pastor George and we started seeing changes Marriage 101 class and boot camp. Through Pastor George’s guidance we knew the right way for marriage but were not ready yet and the process began.

Karen and I were committed to see this through because we believed it was God’s calling. We took the Marriage 101 again and did the process with more determination and guidance from Pastor George which was not easy. One of the biggest decisions we made was abstinence and during this it was very very tough with lots of temptations we even gave in to it a couple times, but we repented a and made the strong effort to hold out. Pastor George provided guidance once a week and there were trying times. There were times where I was so angry with Pastor George that I did not speak to him over the phone, I walked away from him, hang up the phone on him and the list goes on. I realize I was a boy at that moment and not a man. Pastor George started the God’s School of Ministry every Wednesday with me which took me from being a boy to being a man and a leader in my home. I learnt and understood that I was not fighting against flesh and blood and started looking at Karen differently and that’s when everything changed.

We were very persistent in doing the right thing by God, and the process of our wedding with Karen. During the process we did things I never done before, I gave the bride price to Karen’s mother as I learnt in God’s School of Marriage and when I did, she was so happy it brought tears to her eyes and gave her heartfelt blessing. My mother was present and was very happy and proud of me. This brought both our families together and both mothers became good friends and hugged each other, then we all hugged each other together as a big happy family.

On April 14th, 2024, I wedded Karen. The wedding beautiful and I was very happy because of the transformation in the life of my wife Karen. She was so cool under pressure as a woman should be.  I got in an accident while she was doing her nail and I called her told her what happened and she was about to leave to come to help, that’s not the way Karen used to be, and this is a woman now and I thank God for God’s School of Marriage.

A girl is more focused on her beauty and when Karen was willing to leave her beauty preparation to come help me I knew I had a woman and not a girl as my wife, other persons saw this also like my brother who came from Canada told me this is different he saw the love between Karen and I and I thank God for the God’s School of Marriage
